Dashing IndianSania does an Ash in Pak

Dashin Indian Sania does an Ash in Pak

After drawing flak for her mismatched wed- ding look, Sania Mirza made some amends for her reception held in husband Shoaib Malik's home town Sialkot on Sunday. The resplendent beige and red sari that the tennis ace wore for the evening, many found was inspired by Aishwarya Rai's Bengali sari from Dola Re Dola song in the film Devdas.
“The outfit was stunning and the red and beige colours worked perfectly for Sania. Her red lipstick and jewellery lent a Bengali touch to her get-up,“ said designer Nikhil Mehra, who had designed Sania's outfit for her reception in India.

Designer Reynu Tandon said, “Everyone wearing a Bengali-South Indian sari of this kind, and in these colours, looks the same.
Neeta Lulla had done Aishwarya's sari in geor- gette, Sania's designer has used a different material.“

Designer Nida Mahmood said it's a nice traditional combination. “But barring the colour of the sari, there's nothing similar to the look,“ she said.

While Sania amped up her style, there were glitch- es galore at the reception.
Uninvited guests and security mismanagement marred the reception at the Sialkot hockey ground, forc- ing the hassled newly-weds to leave the function before it was over. Upset with the mismanagement, Sania's family, which had gone from India, also left for Lahore early. Eyewitnesses said hundreds of people showed up for the reception, many of whom weren't invitees.
Some people even said that invites to the reception had been sold for Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000. To make matters worse, the city power cor- poration allowed no extra lighting at the venue.
